When I began writing I was SO SURE agents would be fighting over my manuscript. Yeah. But after almost thirteen years in the industry, a lot of bloody noses, and even more lessons in humility, I hope that these tips will help you. Self-publishing is AWESOME, and it’s a better fit for certain personalities and even content (um, social media?), but we must be educated before we publish.

  1. Thank you so much for your comments. My first book I went the traditional route with what I thought was a well-respected publisher. My experience with them was distasteful so I am seriously considering self-publishing my second book. Sometimes I think learning the business end of writing is more difficult than learning the craft of writing well. Thank you for your candid comments regarding the most common five mistakes in self-publishing. I have taken to heart what you have said.
